About Flor A. Vite, MA, LPC

Hi, I’m Flor. I’m a bilingual licensed professional counselor and the founder of CalmThrive Therapy. As an Afro-Indigenous Peruvian Latina from a hardworking first-generation family, I’ve always known two things about myself:

  • I’m deeply curious about how people think, feel, and connect.

  • I want to create spaces where others feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow.

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist

My journey began in 2017 while working full-time on an adult inpatient psychiatric unit and pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Balancing both was challenging, but it taught me the value of compassion, resilience, and meeting people where they are.

I earned my master’s degree in 2019, becoming the first in my family to do so. Since then, I’ve worked across a variety of clinical settings, including:

  • Adult inpatient psychiatry

  • Public schools

  • Outpatient therapy practices

These experiences helped me see mental health from multiple perspectives, from crisis stabilization to long-term growth, healing and identity development.

Why I Specialize in ADHD, AuDHD, and Anxiety

Through my work, I noticed a gap in services for girls and women with ADHD, AuDHD, and anxiety, especially those who are late-diagnosed or exploring their neurodivergent identity for the first time. Many have spent years masking, feeling off, or questioning themselves without realizing their brains simply work differently.

This inspired my passion: providing neurodivergent-affirming, culturally responsive, strengths-based therapy for:

  • PreTeens (9+) navigating executive functioning, social-emotional growth, and self-expression.

  • Teens exploring identity, managing masking, and building life skills.

  • Adult women addressing late-identified ADHD or AuDHD, burnout, anxiety, and self-acceptance

While I often work with women, I welcome neurodivergent and neurotypical adults of all genders.

How I Help My Clients

I aim to help clients:

  • Feel seen, understood, and supported, not pathologized.

  • Build tools and strategies that work with their brain and strengths.

  • Manage executive functioning challenges, overwhelm, and life demands.

  • Recognize and manage masking behaviors.

  • Embrace self-acceptance, confidence, and authentic identity.

My Approach

I take a warm, collaborative, and practical approach to therapy. Together, we focus on strategies that actually work for your mind, life, and goals. Therapy is about uncovering the incredible person you’ve always been, not changing who you are.

I am an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and I am completing advanced training in autism and neurodiversity-affirming therapy to deepen this work.

Why Work With Me

I provide therapy that is:

  • Neurodivergent-affirming

  • Culturally responsive

  • Practical, empowering, and strengths-focused

Whether you are navigating late-diagnosed ADHD or AuDHD, masking, anxiety, or supporting your preteen or teen, I provide care that meets you where you are and helps you thrive in your own life.

My practice values confidentiality, respect, and empathy, ensuring a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
